Sports Massage

Athletes are always looking at ways to improve performance and increase their competitive edge and use everything at their disposal to do so.

Athletes are far more aware of how massage will benefit them and now see it as an integral part of their training programme. Regular application of massage will effectively release muscle tension and will help restore musculo-skeletal balance.The demand for sports massage is increasing and becoming more recognised as a therapy which will aid recovery and enhance performance.

There is a corolation between their training schedule where they endeavour to enhance strength, stamina, speed and flexibility and the need to make time for recovery. Massage has been found to speed up recovery and help prevent injury from overuse. Small problems in muscle and other soft tissues tend to create imbalances, these can lead to poor posture and loss of form. These need to be addressed to prevent further damage or secondary damage from compensatory movements. To ignore these ‘injuries’ will lead to issues that get worse and become chronic. At this stage they are much more difficult to treat and can lead to recurring injuries which increase in severity.

One-to-one Personal Training

This is a service once thought of as only for elite athletes and movie stars. Not so now as more and more people are easily able to afford their own personal fitness trainer. The benefits are enormous. I look on fitness as an investment in your future. It enables you to do what you want, knowing that you will be fit enough to succeed. Your training package will start with a comprehensive fitness assessment.

Mobile Home Training

How many of have us have started a home fitness program or gym membership only to give up within months because of boredom and lack of motivation. With regular motivation and a flexible home training plan under the guidance of a personal trainer you can achieve amazing results with just one session a week. They will be specific. progressive, have variety and above all be great fun.

I can train you in the comfort of your own home at a time to suit your busy lifestyle. I bring my own equipment which will allow me to give you a full body workout or a workout tailored to your own specific requirements.

Training sessions can be adjusted to cater for weight loss, toning, strength, endurance. Sessions can be arranged so that you can train with a friend (buddy training).

Outdoor Training

If you want to train outdoors: local parks, country lanes, canal towpaths etc. I am available to accompany and motivate you to achieve your fitness goals. Running, Walking, Cycling etc.

Weight Loss

Do you have a special event coming up: Wedding, Holiday, sporting event or do you just need to loose weight to get into the next size down. I can help you with a specific fat busting programme. Exercise allied to nutritional advice will give enhanced and realistic fat loss, which stays off.

Sport Specific Programmes

If you have an event coming up where you need specific aerobic/resistance training or coaching in the following sports I can provide a programme to help achieve your optimum fitness. Do you need dryside resistance training for swimming, or perhaps you are unhappy with your bike times or bike position, or you need a little more speed or endurance in the run element of a triathlon; I can help. Running, Cycling, Triathlon, Rock Climbing, Football etc.

Nutritional Advice

No amount of exercise will benefit the athlete if they do not have a well balanced diet. I can give advice based an assessment of you current diet.

For a healthy diet you will require Carbohydrates, Protein, Fat and also micronutrients which are Vitamins and minerals. Water is the other essential food needed to sustain life and is required to maintain optimum performance.
